This Privacy Policy explains how Applydex ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our Chrome extension and related services. We take your privacy seriously — the whole point of Applydex is to save you work, not to profile you.
1. What Applydex Does
Applydex is a Chrome extension that analyzes LinkedIn job postings to detect potentially fraudulent or "ghost" job listings, score how well postings match your resume, and generate tailored application materials (resume, cover letter, interview prep).
2. Data We Collect
Account Information
- Google account: email address, name, and profile picture (via Google Sign-In).
- Purpose: to create and manage your Applydex account.
LinkedIn Job Data
- Job titles, company names, locations, descriptions, and posting metadata from LinkedIn job pages you visit.
- Purpose: to analyze jobs for ghost indicators and produce match scores.
- Scope: we only read pages within LinkedIn's
/jobs/paths — never the rest of LinkedIn, and never any other site.
Resume & Profile Data
- Uploaded resume files (PDF, DOCX, TXT).
- Extracted skills, experience, and job preferences.
- Purpose: to match your profile against jobs and generate tailored documents.
Application Tracking Data
- Jobs you save, apply to, or track through Applydex.
- Application stages and notes.
- Purpose: to help you manage your job-search pipeline.
Payment Information
- Processed securely by Razorpay (our payment processor).
- We do not store credit-card numbers, bank details, or any payment credentials.
- We store only: your Razorpay subscription ID and current plan status.
3. How We Use Your Data
- Analyze job postings for ghost-job indicators using AI (Anthropic Claude).
- Match jobs against your resume profile.
- Generate tailored resumes, cover letters, and interview-prep materials.
- Track your job-application pipeline inside the extension.
- Send daily email digests (only if you explicitly enable this).
- Provide customer support and billing receipts.
We do not use your data to train AI models, sell it to advertisers, or build any third-party profile.
4. Where Your Data Is Stored
- Backend server: hosted on Railway (US-based cloud infrastructure).
- Database: Supabase (PostgreSQL on AWS).
- Local storage: authentication tokens and daily scan stats are cached locally in your browser via Chrome's extension storage.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. Data is shared only with the following processors, and only to the extent needed to run the Service:
- Anthropic (Claude AI): job descriptions and anonymized resume text are sent for AI analysis. No email or identifying personal data is included in prompts.
- Razorpay: for payment processing, if you subscribe to Pro.
- Supabase: our database hosting provider.
- Google: only for authentication (via OAuth).
- Law enforcement: only if required by valid legal process or to protect life and safety.
6. Data Retention & Deletion
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You can request complete deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing privacy@applydex.com. Upon a deletion request, your personal data is permanently removed within 30 days (except any records we are legally required to retain, such as invoice records under tax law).
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access: request a copy of your personal data.
- Correction: update or correct any information we hold.
- Deletion: request permanent deletion of your account and data.
- Portability: export your application-tracker data as CSV (available in-app).
- Withdraw consent: at any time, by deleting your account.
8. Security
- All data is transmitted over HTTPS with TLS 1.2+ encryption.
- Authentication tokens are stored securely in Chrome's extension storage.
- Backend API endpoints require a valid authenticated session.
- Payment processing is handled exclusively by PCI-DSS-compliant Razorpay.
9. Children's Privacy
Applydex is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, contact privacy@applydex.com and we will remove it promptly.
10. Cookies
Our website uses only essential cookies needed for the site to function. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. The Chrome extension itself does not set cookies; it uses Chrome's extension storage for session data.
11. International Data Transfers
Our servers are located in the United States. By using Applydex, you consent to the transfer of your data to the United States for processing.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes are posted on this page with an updated date. Material changes will be communicated by in-app notice or email.
